Bath Dental Clinic

Practice: Bath Dental Clinic
Location: Bath, Somerset
Founder and Director: Dr Paul H. R. Wilson BSc BDS MSc FDSRCPS FDS
Date: October 2016 & 2017

The Project

The ambition of Paul Wilson, founder and director, of Bath Dental Clinic was to establish a new specialist dental practice in a prime location in the centre of Bath. This entailed acquiring a suitable building, renovating the entire premises, converting the space into a contemporary dental practice and having the surgery custom designed; followed by the supply, installation and commissioning of the surgery equipment including the CBCT equipment.

The Vision

Paul had a good understanding of what he required from this new project. The practice had to be patient-focused with a layout consistent with good process flow, while exuding a very calm and gentle environment in keeping with Bath’s UNESCO World Heritage status. The surgery would provide specialist dental care par excellence in a modern, warm, welcoming, open and bright environment. The décor would reflect the approach with a neutral wall and cabinetry colour and a splash of colour provided by dental chairs.

The Work

Extensive renovation and alterations were carried out to accommodate all the clinical areas on the ground floor namely two treatment suites, a state-of-the-art digital imaging and CBCT scanning room, a central decontamination room, waiting and post-treatment room, a disabled access restroom, toilets and reception area.

Matt Richardson of Woodlane Dental Equipment worked closely with Paul Wilson, from conception of the project, advising on the choice of building, designing the surgery, project managing the entire build through to the supply and installation of cabinetry and surgery equipment including the CBCT equipment.

The complete service provided by Woodlane Dental, included the provision all necessary drawings and computer aided designs for the dental suites as well as free consultancy on all related matters. Paul Wilson chose ergonomically comfortable dental equipment such as A-dec 500 chairs for comfort, reliability and durability.

Paul had a clear vision of what he wanted to achieve in terms of an aesthetically pleasing modern surgery, fully equipped to provide specialist dental care. And, with meticulous planning and fulsome support and assistance from Woodlane Dental, Paul has undoubtedly achieved his objectives.
